How long does a body mist actually last?

On your skin

3–5 hours for most body mists. Skin type matters: dry skin holds fragrance less well than oily skin, which is why moisturiser helps. Pulse points last longer than flat areas like your chest.

On your clothes

Longer. Often a full day, sometimes two. Cotton and wool hold scent better than synthetics. Avoid silk — it can mark.

In the bottle

A sealed body mist is good for 2–3 years from manufacture. Once opened, use it within 12–18 months for best results. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Bathrooms are actually one of the worst places to store fragrance — the steam and temperature swings break it down faster.

If you want it to last longer through the day

Apply to damp skin. Spray on clothes as well as skin. And keep the bottle in your bag for a top-up at lunch — that's literally what a body mist is for.
