How to apply a body mist (without wasting it)

·3 min read

A body mist isn't an eau de parfum. It sits lighter, it sprays wider, and it rewards a slightly different application. Get it right and one bottle lasts you months.

Where to spray

Pulse points. Inside of the wrists, the sides of the neck, the chest. Anywhere the skin runs warm — that's where the fragrance lifts off you through the day.

How far away

Hold the bottle about 15–20 cm from your skin. Closer and it pools in one spot. Further and most of it ends up in the air behind you.

How many sprays

Two to three is a good baseline. One on each side of the neck, one on the chest. Walk through it if you want a softer wash.

The mistake

Don't rub it in. Rubbing your wrists together crushes the top notes and shortens how long it lasts. Spray, let it dry, leave it alone.

Apply to clean, slightly damp skin if you can — straight out of the shower is ideal. Moisture holds fragrance better than dry skin.
